For reference's sake, I'm a 5'9" male with a fairly oval-ish face. I think this mouth guard would be great for people with more narrow faces than mine. Or perhaps my teeth are too wide or too big. (I can't imagine I have abnormally large teeth though.) Or perhaps my overbite is too big. (It's not though. aside from two slightly buck teeth, all of my teeth align nearly perfectly within a few millimeters.) In any event, I'm having problems getting it to sit properly. The guard's outer track formed perfectly around the outer part of my teeth. But the guard's inner track is way too small. My back molars all smooshed the inner track in order to fit at all. I ended up trimming the back of the guard down the full amount allowed. So now, it fits okay but no longer protects my back two molars on both sides.Aside from fitting, the guard does feel good. The material is smooth and soft so it doesn't cut or poke into my cheeks at all. Breathing was easy as the vents are ample-sized. Oh, I will mention that because they are tall, my jaw does feel a little too open so my jaw was a little sore the first time I used it. I imagine that any double guard with good breathability is going to be similar though.I ordered this for my husband at 2am one morning as I was laying in bed unable to sleep due to his snoring. We had our newborn baby sleeping in our room with us still and his snoring would wake the baby, which would then wake me. After contemplating smothering my dear husband with the Boppy laying between us, I decided to give this mouthguard a shot.He spent about 30 minutes boiling it, fitting it and trimming it down to size. He actually trimmed quite a bit from it so that it only fits over his front teeth. It has been more than 6 months now and it continues to be a miracle!!! There are times I have to wake him up to have him put it back in, but for the most part we have no snoring!!! I'm sure we will have to replace our current peace keeper at some point, but I am really impressed with how well this one has held up to daily (nightly) use.I followed the instructions to a T, put the guard in my mouth on the bottom teeth first. Then bit down slowly, insuring my teeth were going in straight... But when i pulled out the mouth guard and cooled it, it was crooked and the sides were flat. Tried to reboil but did not work at all! Never reformed shape or anything... I had some tap out mouth guards 2 for 14 dollars and those work ok, but i need something i could breath easier through. This was 14 dollars and a total wast of money. I would not buy this one again.I messed up on the back section and bitting when forming it to my teeth, I crimped the edge down. It fit a bit wide in the front and a bit narrow in the back. Would have been fine IF I realized it when doing, that's on me.I was using to align my jaw during sleep. Well, it is to wide apart for me, my mouth is actually open all night, not comfortable, you can get drooling etc... So I'm sure this is great for sports but a bit to much for sleeping with, for me anyway. I will keep looking.Coming from a female with a kind of small head, this mouth guard is pretty huge. I can hardly close my lips over it. I've heard it's really good for when you get hit in the head though, we'll see if I agree with that after I get hit with a head shot. Easy to mold though, which was nice, just don't forget to put in the insert for the breathing spaces when you mold it.This thing is absolutely huge. When my jaw is relaxed, I would be able to fit my finger in without touching my lips if the mouthguard wasn't blocking the way. There is a little more than a half inch between your top and bottom teeth after forming. You wont be able to really form it to your gums much. It just seems too excessively thick in all dimensions to be comfortable.Follow the instructions, cut to fit, boil and mold and you have a perfect mouthguard that you can even breathe through. Protects entire mouth and doesn't expose your lips to hits, absorbs shock pretty well and is very comfortable. Fits adult and child.I guess my teeth are weird or my tongue is long because I did all that and I sort of feel the back ends touching the sides of the back of my tongue and almost (not quite) gagging on it. I could keep cutting more off of the back but I want better protection in the molar area. Then I realized I can just touch my tongue to the roof of my mouth and it's no longer a problem. Great mouthguard, very happy with the purchase!I use this mouth guard for football, jiu jitsu, and muay thai.It does the job well and it was easy to mold and fit. I had to cut a bit off the rear but it was no big deal. This double guard feels great and I feel confident when wearing it. I generally prefer double guards over single and I think this one is one of the best I've used so far.Le quedó grande!!
