Excellent adhesive, easy to mount. So I ordered this for my hermit crab tank to place on the side of my tank and add in some heat. Unfortunately, it could never get up to even 80 degrees with cranking it as high as it could go. This definitely could work for a 10 gallon tank and warm it up no problem though. The pros are that the directions to navigate, apply and use the heating pad with the thermostat pad are easy peasy! The application is super easy (and was pretty great to peel off) and the pad is so pretty and smooth, if only it had warmed up my hermies tank! Also, if for whatever reason you need to return it - the process is as smooth as the backside of the heating pad! It’s the best mat! It works perfectly and doesn’t give an accurate reading,My leopard gecko loves it! Would suggest this to anyoneWorked great for about a month-ish with only a 2° variation which is pretty good at this price. Then as I went to change the setting as I do every morning to day/night cycle my snake's enclosure, the LCD failed. It thankfully still works, but I can't read the display so I'm forced to check it with my laser thermometer after an hour or so. The design isn't well thought out at it uses membrane type buttons and they just put a flexible cover over top of the entire unit which pushes against the screen. I don't push it very hard but due to the design it's built in a way that almost guarantees it will fail if you have to change the settings daily. If you plan on using this one I highly suggest a seperate thermostat controller so you don't have to touch the thermostat itself. More cables and space needed to do so but if temperatures need changed at any point its absolutely necessary with this thermostat. Also the heat pad adheres good and after the first 5 hours it will stay at the temp you want very well. It has a hard time adhering to the spot that you put the temp probe. I had to add tape to the spot with the probe as it fell of the first day. If you have a setup where you don't need to probe directly on the mat this won't be a problem for you. I have a glass enclosure so it is required, and needs tape to hold half the mat up.Great adhesion, great temperature accuracy. Had it for over a month. (Read instructions)The 6x9 mat recommended for a 10 gallon tank is not adequate. I now have a small space heater plugged into the thermostat, pointing at my hermit crab terrarium. That works surprisingly well.I bought this for a 10 gallon tank with a tarantula. It’s never been over 74 degrees but that’s fine for what I need it forEast to setup, buttons were a bit hard to program temperature but eventually got it, set it and forget itThis mat works exactly as described. It heats up quick and the price was cheaper than some other ones that I looked at. Sticks well, and works best with a temperature controller. It is a little small but there its sized accordingly. There is also a bigger one that you can order I think. But if this fits your space though, pick it up because it’s a good mat.The instructions don't go over much about how to change the temperature and set it, it requires a good substrate to safely install the sensor without worrying about water damage. Bought this for my fat tailed gecko so need pretty high temperatures, so far its doing the job I need.Used for my cuttings, sped up my rooting. Paired it with the vivosun thermostat and worked like a charm. I DO NOT recommend this product for anyone who needs it for an aquarium or reptile enclosure. The 3m adhesive is very lacklustre to say the least. When I peeled off the 3M paper much of the adhesive came with it. This worked out better for the purpose I needed it for but for pets take cautionI am not super thrilled with this product and I’m worried about the care of my animal because of it. The temperature output is inconsistent and is not reaching the higher temperatures I’m after. I have the thermostat set to 35. The thermostat reading will fluctuate between 32 to 35 throughout the day. What is extra frustrating is that when I check the surface temp of the heat pad with my temp gun, it’s saying only 26-28. I am not confident in the over performance of this product. If you buy this for a reptile, set it a few degrees lower than you need it to be, the readings are not very accurate. Make sure you have a laser temperature reader as well. I worked with it for a year & then it bit the dust, which could have been dangerous if I wasnt so used to keeping a close eye on my snakes setup including temps. I bought a differrent one & I'm hoping it's much better.
