This will protect your bumper from the normal wear and tear of loading and unloading your trunk. The provided tape works just fine for holding the bumper guard on. I've never pried at the cover but I don't know why anyone would need to. This'll work for protecting your new car and Amazon's price beats anyone else's (especially the dealers!).
