Bought this to extend the stock on my Browning BPS. That little bit of extension gives me a more natural / better placement of the cheek on the comb of the stock. This allows for a better look down the barrel / rail when shotgun is brought up to the shoulder and mounted. This Pachmayr slip on pad is a great way to experiment to find that better fit without making major modifications to your stock. If it don't work out, just take it off. These are reasonably priced. You are not spending a lot of money. You get a nice snug fit and a little longer, harder rubber sleeve so it does not move around or have to be readjusted after every few shots with the right size. Don't guess, measure your butt plate/pad and order accordingly. It can be slipped over the existing attached butt pad with no problem. You may have to stretch a side at a time and walk it on but it will go on. Another tip which I did not need to use - place it in the hot sun or warm it in a clothes dryer briefly. The other obvious added benefit, it does what it was meant to do....reduce recoil.
